The following scenarios illustrate some possible uses offered by the HACOP system:
• “Solange arrives home after a long day at work. As she opens the front door a tune alerts Genara of her arrival, prompting her to run downstairs and welcome her owner with a display of affective doggy behaviours. Solange decides to take a bath. She starts running the water when the neighbour rings the bell. Having spent a few minutes with the neighbour chatting outside a familiar tune lets Solange know that the bath is full. The children are not at home so there is no real danger of accidental drowning, still she is glad she has a signal system that alerts her of such happenings. She finishes talking with the neighbour and goes upstairs to take a bath. While enjoying the effects of lavender she distinctively hears the sound reporting the opening of the front door: that can only mean that Fran is back with the kids.”.
